The Client
BoomBet (previously Sportsbetting) is one of Australia’s oldest players in the online betting industry. All their bets are placed online meaning cutting edge mobile/web tech is integral to their business.
The challenge
Boombet had recently purchased Salesforce to manage their operations and marketing. While they worked with a Salesforce partner to get the Salesforce foundations setup, the partner did not have anyone available to start the Salesforce Marketing Cloud work for at least 3 months which didn’t align with the Boombet marketing strategy timelines. There was also the not so trivial problem of starting in December meaning that the Christmas/holiday season was also going to be a challenge to achieve the required delivery timeframe.
The goal
Deliver a greenfield Salesforce Marketing Cloud project:
- quickly, i.e., Start within 1 week and complete the project within 2 months
- In a cost-effective manner
- using either local Australian or remote resources

Within 1 day of the initial call with Boombet, we presented a hybrid resourcing model to Boombet using a Salesforce Architect based out of Melbourne and developers based overseas. We facilitated an outcome and requirements-gathering session and presented a proposal within 2 business days with a full walkthrough of the approach and timelines. We compared favourably to other organisations and we were awarded the Project.

Delivery work commenced on the project the following week and the team carried on working through the Christmas break. The project was completed in the required timeframe and on budget.
